Brangelina will likely be one partner short at the end-of-summer Venice Film Festival.While new dad Brad Pitt is expected to make his first red carpet appearance since Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins in May, Angie will reportedly be missing from the festivities.

Brad stars in the Coen brothers' film "Burn After Reading," which will open the 65th festival on Aug. 27.If Angie doesn't show, Brad already has a high-profile replacement lined up: "Oceans" pal and "Burn" co-star George Clooney.Because of the impact of the writers strike, only five U.S. films are in this year's competition. They include:"Rachel Getting Married," starring Anne Hathaway as a woman who has been in and out of rehab for the past several years but returns home for her sister's wedding.

In what would probably be the best casting decision of 2008, Angelina Jolie has apparently asked to play Catwoman in the next Batman flick! The foxy new mum would look ridiculously good in tight PVC - and original Catwoman Julie Newmar said Jolie would be awesome in the role, if Batman director Christopher Nolan was into reviving the character in a future sequel. As if he wouldn't be! Angelina slinking about a movie set in a black bodysuit? Tough job.

Julie told the New York Daily News that "Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me (she) has made inquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. "Catwoman is Batman's one true love. She's tremendously popular with women because she's both a heroine and a villainess."

And with a history of women like Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry having played her in the past - she's popular with men, too!

Angelina Jolie is rumoured to being lined up to play Catwoman in a future Batman film.

Former Catwoman Julie Newmar has been quoted in saying that she's heard Jolie has been inquiring about the part.

Newmar told the New York Daily News, "Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me (she) has made inquiries about the role. I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman’s one true love."

"She’s tremendously popular with women because she’s both a heroine and a villainess." Newmar added.

The Dark Knight co-writer David Goyer had revealed in a previous interview that filmmakers had ruled out a return of Catwoman, who appeared in Batman Returns and Bat spin-off Catwoman, which starred Halle Berry as the leather clad villainess.

Hollywood celebs Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt reportedly conceived their newborn twins using in vitro fertilisation.The couple - who welcomed Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline into the world on July 12 - were reportedly so desperate to add to their ever-expanding brood they turned to IVF infertility treatment in a bid to conceive. 

A source close to the couple told Us Weekly magazine: "They conceived through in vitro fertilisation. They both desperately wanted more babies soon."Angelina, 33, only had a one per cent chance of conceiving fraternal twins naturally, but a 25 per cent chance by recipients of the treatment.

The Wanted actress was also keen to have the procedure - which can cost up to $12,000 a time – because she didn’t want to have any problems conceiving.The source added: "She wouldn't have to deal with the stress of trying to get pregnant. They were impatient."

Movie bosses want Angelina Jolie, who is considered the favorite to play the leading lady in "The Thomas Crown Affair 2," to gain weight for the challenging role, the Daily Mirror reports.

A source tells the newspaper that "ideally they want Angelina to put on two stone [about 30 pounds] for the role. It is going to be very physically demanding, which is why they want her to carry the extra weight.

"They don't want a reprise of what happened with 'Wanted,' where she was fainting and they had to take her costumes in. She was also slated for being too skinny to portray an action woman, and for 'Thomas Crown' they want a convincing female lead."The film, which is scheduled to be released in 2009, stars Pierce Brosnan as billionaire art thief Thomas Crown, a role he originated in 1999's "The Thomas Crown Affair." Dutch director Paul Verhoeven, known for his work on "RoboCop" and "Basic Instinct," is slated to direct.

Angelina Jolie has been told to pile on the pounds for her latest film role. The 33-year-old actress is asked to gain up to 28lbs (about 12.7kg) by the bosses of "The Thomas Crown Affair 2" - who she also worked with on her last movie "Wanted" - because they are desperate to avoid her fainting on set as she did while filming the assassin thriller.

Sources say Angelina Jolie “feels lucky” to have a healthy set of twins. The actress and partner Brad Pitt welcomed son Knox and daughter Vivienne on July 13 in a French hospital. “Everyone is excited and thrilled to have the babies here! They’re healthy babies,” says an insider.

“Having a healthy family is all either Angelina or Brad can ask for right now, and Angelina considers herself lucky that she’s gotten everything she couple have asked for in her life,” says another source.

Meanwhile, Jolie and Pitt have taken their twins home. The couple already has one biological daughter and three adopted children.

Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and her ex-husband Billy Bob Thornton are planning to reunite for a comedy movie together.

The former couple, who were married for three years before divorcing in 2003, are currently searching for a suitable script in which they will co-star.Jolie and Thornton met on the set of 1999 movie 'Pushing Tin' and Thornton has insisted that he and Jolie have remained friends since their split.

He told Maxim magazine that both of them were keen to work together again as long as they are not cast as husband and wife.He said: "We've talked about it plenty of times. I'm sure we will. We want to be really careful that we pick the right one. Maybe a comedy. In other words, we wouldn't want to do another movie about a husband-wife relationship. That probably wouldn't be very good."Last week Jolie gave birth to twins Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline. Jolie and partner Brad Pitt have four other children.

Angelina Jolie and her newborn twins left the maternity clinic in the south of France on Saturday where she gave birth a week ago, according to media reports. Jolie, 33, left the clinic in the Riviera city of Nice before dawn, avoiding photographers who have been massed outside.

    Associated Press Television cameras outside the hospital filmed a large white van with tinted windows leaving one of the hospital's back entrances at that time. The twins, a boy and a girl, named Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline, "were doing perfectly well," said the statement issued by the clinic.

    Jolie checked into the hospital on July 2.   The local newspaper has reported that an unnamed U.S. publication has paid 11 million U.S. dollars for exclusive rights to the first photos of the Jolie-Pitt twins and that the proceeds will go to charity.

Monday What an absolutely wonderful, peaceful day. Being a new mom can be so relaxing. Particularly when you have a staff of nannies and servants and security people who cordon off the entire floor of a French hospital so you can get some sleep. One of the nannies wheeled the twins into the room for a minute and I gazed at them longingly. "Isn't it amazing," I asked Brad. He was playing with his iPhone again. "Brad," I said. "Isn't it amazing?" He looked up. "You bet, Angie. It's especially cool since we're the biological parents," he said. "We're the biological parents of our third child, too," I said, coolly. "Pax?" he said. "I admit I have a hard time keeping them straight." I just stared at him. "Wait a sec, Pax is our fourth," he said. "Right, she's the Vietnamese one. Of course, you gave birth to our third child. I have it now. How could I forget sweet little Shalom?," he said. "Shiloh," I said. "Right," he said. "My bad."
