The movie is about “the lone survivor of a space mission to repair the Hubble telescope desperately tries to return to Earth and reunite with her daughter.” Because of the movie’s focus on the female lead, the studio wants an actress that can attract the audience; hence the interest on Jolie, whose latest movie, Salt, has made $244,626,460 worldwide.

When Angelina passed the first time, the studio considered many other actresses, including Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, Naomi Watts, Marion Cotillard, Carey Mulligan, Scarlett Johansson, Sienna Miller, Abbie Cornish, Rebecca Hall, Olivia Wilde, and Blake Lively.

Robert Downey Jr. is set to appear in the film, but he has a relatively small role. The entire heavyweight must be carried by the female lead.

This is an economic and a social catastrophe,” the Daily Times quoted her as saying. The floods have left one-fifth of Pakistan under water and have affected an estimated 17 million people.

UNHCR is one of the numerous UN agencies that are on grounds with Pakistan in trying to provide relief to the flood victims, many of whom face a long wait before they can return to their homes and livelihoods. “The more support we can give, the greater number of tents, food, clean water and medication will get to the people in need,” she added.

Jolie was overcome with emotion at the "compassion fatigue" affecting the flood victims in Pakistan, which made the actor go for such a huge donation to help rescue and relief work. Jolie, who is also a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations, donated from her own pocket and indicated that she might also pay a visit to the country once the media hype was over.

Some Pakistani leaders who made donations to the flood relief have not revealed their amount but said that their money went directly into party coffers. While Zardari and Altaf Hussain, chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, have contributed Rs 5 million each ($58,400), Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and other top leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q, Awami National Party and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam donated in kind instead of cash. Besides Zardari, his son, Bilawal Zardari-Bhutto and daughters Bakhtawar and Asifa have started collecting public donations from overseas Pakistanis as well as communities in Britain through a flood relief fund.

She has additionally announced that the movie's cast will consist of actors from the various ethnicities of the former Yugoslavia. "I would like to involve as many local people as possible and learn as much as I can," the living partner of Brad Pitt stated as quoted by Reuters.

We hope so.
