And hat, topped off with a pair of long white socks and chunky Dr Martens boots. Others see the pouting teenager clad in swimwear, and outfits including a leopard print dress, and denim shorts and a crop top. Jolie, the daughter of Hollywood actor Jon Voight, became a model in her teens while she was a drama student.

Since then, star appearances in Hollywood blockbusters including Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Mr and Mrs Smith have confirmed her as a pin-up. The 34-year-old has also gone on to be the face of fashion label St John and won praise for her red carpet looks. The pictures will be up for sale in California on Friday.

Also going under the hammer as part of an original glamour photography event are pictures of a young George Clooney, Drew Barrymore, Kirsten Dunst, Teri Hatcher, Sarah Jessica Parker, Ann-Margret, Halle Berry, Cher, Diana Ross, Will Smith and Rock Hudson.There is also a collection of master prints by artists such as Richard Avedon, Man Ray, Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts.
